History
Bunsong Seng is a survivor of the Khmer Rouge; a genocide killing 1/3 of Cambodia's population (1975 - 1979). In 1988, Bunsong fled to the United States where he became widely known throughout New England. He currently resides in Cambodia and is still passing forth his knowledge in martial arts with the Cambodian military and various Cambodian martial arts schools.
Martial Arts
Grandmaster Seng began his martial arts journey at the age of 6. He currently holds a 9th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, and held a professional Kun Khmer record of (18-1) before he fled Southeast Asia. Grandmaster Seng has led countless professional fighters to success including former UFC fighter Matt "The Hammer" Hamill, and current One Championship star, Chan Rothana fighting out of Cambodia. Grandmaster Seng currently has 60+ years of martial arts experience under his belt.

History
After fleeing the Cambodian Genocide (1975-1979) Kru Boa spent 5 years in various refugee camps in Thailand. It was there where his love of Kun Khmer flourished. Kru Boa would be ringside to watch older relatives fight in Kun Khmer matches held in the refugee camps, during special holidays. He competed in a handful of amateur matches between the tender ages of 6-10 years old. His training was interrupted when his family immigrated to Rhode Island in 1980.
Martial Arts
In 1989, Kru Boa met and simultaneously trained in Kun Khmer and Hapkido under Grandmaster Bunsong Seng. For the better part of a decade, Kru Boa assisted GM Seng in spreading the art of Kun Khmer and Hapkido throughout the New England area, until he relocated to Washington State in 2001.
During his tenure in Washington State, Kru Boa would help to bring awareness and unite the Kun Khmer, Muay Thai, and Muay Lao community in the Northwest through his active participation in USEACA. From 2008-2020, as head-instructor for South Sound Martial Arts TEAMSSMA.COM and striking coach for Team Synergy, Kru Boa helped coach many regional, national, and international amateur and professional fighters. While in WA State, he also trained former UFC fighters Reese “Riptide” Andy and former UFC/Strike Force/Seattle Tiger Sharks, Bristol Marunde. Kru Boa currently has over 40+ years of martial arts experience.
In addition, Kru Boa, also known as “Mr. T”, is a certified public school teacher with over 20 years of experience in middle school and high school. He has a B.A. in English Education from Rhode Island College, an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and an ESL endorsement from Roger Williams University.
Apprentice Kru Kim

Song Kim, 31 years old, is a Rhode Island native. He is the son of "Khmer Rouge" survivors; a Cambodian genocide killing 1/3 of Cambodia's population, also known as "The Killing Fields" (1975-1979).
Song is a veteran in the United States Army, serving 10 years overall. He was titled "Best Warrior" two times in 2019, competing in California, Kentucky and North Carolina, and is also a Master Fitness Trainer via the United States Army. Song grew up studying various forms of martial arts including Taekwondo, Hapkido and Kun Khmer under his father, Grandmaster Bunsong Seng.
